One of my favorite restaurants Bonefish Grill makes a shrimp appetizer that is very hard to compete with. I can’t go to Bonefish without ordering the bang bang shrimp. Last week I saw shrimp on sale and I immediately knew I had to try to recreate this dish. Super easy and super delicious. At Bonefish it’s just an appetizer but I could eat these as a whole meal. They aren’t very spicy either, I like to refer to it as “flavorful”. Next time you see a deal on shrimps, try out this recipe.
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup Thai Sweet Chili Sauce
3 drops Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce (or to taste)
1 pound shelled and deveined shrimp
oil for frying
Mix mayonnaise with Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. Add hot sauce to taste.
Dredge the shrimp in cornstarch. Deep fat fry the shrimp until lightly brown. Drain on paper towel, put in a bowl and coat with the sauce.
Serve in a lettuce lined bowl, top with chopped scallions.
